The penis is a very vascular organ and haemorrhage will be copious and brisk folloing injury.

This dog damaged and magled the end of the penis when getting through a arbed wire fence. Unfortunately the penis became stuck on the barbed wire as the dog climbed through the fence and was shredded as the dog panicked and leaped through.

The dog presented in distress and with sever haemorrhage from its sheath. A general anaesthetic was required to examine the injury.
